Software Developer The Opportunity: As a software sustainment engineer, you play a pivotal role in an application’s functional life. From troubleshooting to fixing bugs, you use your operations and maintenance skills to ensure that things run smoothly. We’re looking for a software sustainment engineer like you to apply your knowledge to our clients’ challenges and their legacy enterprise systems. As a software sustainment engineer at Booz Allen, you’ll have an operational impact from day one. Supporting a team of professionals, you’ll maintain applications and keep systems working. You’ll use programming and scripting languages as you continuously enhance and maintain the applications, troubleshoot any issues that arise operationally, and upgrade the systems to meet security requirements. Most importantly, you’ll strengthen your skills as you advise our clients on the best ways to improve and modernize the existing systems. You Have: 3+ years of experience maintaining and making minor changes to existing applications or keeping those systems working in a sustainment mode 3+ years of experience with legacy enterprise systems Experience with basic programming languages, technologies, tools, or web development stacks Experience working in a microservices or distributed application environment Experience with designing and debugging applications Experience with workflows, web parts, site maintenance, and APIs Ability to create solutions within a collaborative, cross-functional team TS/SCI clearance Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of experience in software development in lieu of degree Nice If You Have: Experience creating and testing modules and components for compliance to design specifications Experience with containerization using tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, and Rancher Experience in C#, Java, Python, C, C++, .NET, JavaScript, React, Angular, NodeJS, PHP, Bash, Visual Basic, Groovy, or Lua Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform Knowledge of shell scripting and automation Knowledge of source control systems such as GIT Knowledge of relational and hierarchal data structures or functional programming Ability to develop detailed program specifications or documentation and participate in design and code reviews and address findings Ability to work in an Agile environment Clearance: Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.
