It offers cardiac services, neurosurgery, liver and HPB medicine, rehabilitation, gynaecology, orthopaedics, and other services The theatre team comprises 13 theatres, Consultants and Practitioners who have vast experience and knowledge across a range of specialties. There are many complex procedures carried out daily, across a range of acute specialities, including Gynae & Obstetrics, as well as general and paediatric surgery.
About the role
As Cardiac Services Manager, you will be accountable for the strategic development and operational oversight of the all cardiac services within the hospital, working with our clinical teams on the wards and in theatres to ensure the patient pathway is seamless. This critical role will involve the execution of business development opportunities and strategies in partnership with Cardiologists, while monitoring and contributing to the design of department/service budgets adhering to work force planning and activity targets.
Duties and responsibilities
Lead on the integration and management of all Cardiac Service teams in Invasive and Non-Invasive cardiology Build effective working relationships with stakeholders to the service to drive quality, effectiveness and responsiveness Collate, review and utilise relevant data to drive service improvement, efficiency and quality (admissions data, efficiency, quality and outcomes) Implementation, coordination and communication of the Cardiology service line strategy Work collaboratively with Cardiologists to ensure safe, smooth and efficient patient care management as necessary and outstanding consultant satisfaction Work alongside the business development team to identify and recruit new consultants to the service Ensure the effective implementation of management policies, including risk management, mandatory training and sickness monitoring, complaints, performance and capability issues Promote a culture of continuous improvement and development at both personal and professional level Ensure compliance with organisational, accreditation and insurance standards Investigation and management of any complaints in line with local and corporate procedures Take responsibility for the day to day management of the departmental budget Skills and experience Prior experience of working within a healthcare environment is essential, private healthcare experience if preferred Experience of working within cardiac services is preferred Prior experience of managing and leading a team Budget management Why HCA UK?
