A Day in the Life The Sr. Technical Writer has the responsibility and authority to drive, create, and deliver technical documentation for global field service employees. This individual will be primarily responsible for creating and delivering the service manuals and other technical instructions for various products to give employees the technical information required to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain products in these businesses. While this position is currently remote, it will become an on-site role at the Lafayette, Colorado campus in the future.
Primary Responsibilities
Plans, develops, writes, and edits detailed technical instructions for Service & Repair technicians Produces PDF and w eb-based publications using a variety of tools Conducts interviews with various users, subject matter experts , and technical staff to gather data for documentation Researches and translates technical information into procedures and other information for highly technical and less technical audiences May document engineering processes and specifications Recommends formats responsive to technical and user requirements Produces products that conform to company documentation and quality assurance standards Required Qualifications: To be considered for this role, please ensure the minimum requirements are evident in your applicant profile. Bachelor’s degree required . Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience Within commuting distance to Lafayette, Colorado Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing or Engineering preferred Experience working in a regulated environment, preferably in medical device s Comfortable working with topic-based authoring in a content management system, specifically MadCap Flare Experience writing materials for Service & Repair for medical equipment Able to work in the Adobe Creative Suite applications and Adobe FrameMaker Expertise in Microsoft Office applications Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management systems such as Agile or Windchill . For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.
