This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the office four times per week or other frequency dictated by the business. What You’ll Do Lead digital transformation initiatives in automotive paint manufacturing by implementing Digital Manufacturing and Smart Factory solutions. Deploy AI/ML, Computer Vision, XR and Advanced Analytics solutions to improve FTQ, equipment reliability, process efficiency, and virtual validation in Paint engineering activities. Develop, deploy, and sustain Digital Twins for paint shop products, processes, and equipment's while establishing an end-to-end digital thread across PLM, CAD, Simulation, MES, and shop-floor systems to enable traceability, virtual validation, and data-driven decision-making. Design and validate vision systems for defect detection, color consistency, sealer quality, coating coverage, and film thickness evaluation. Configure AI agents and automation workflows by integrating enterprise data, engineering tools, and knowledge repositories. Automate CAD/PLM solutions using APIs, macros, templates, and rule-based engineering tools to improve engineering productivity integrated with PLM systems. Develop CAD-to-XR pipelines to support virtual reviews, training, manufacturing validation, and collaboration. Support paint facility execution, virtual commissioning, and launch activities for greenfield and brownfield projects. Drive paint process improvements focused on quality, warranty cost reduction, FTQ, and equipment uptime. Provide paint warranty analysis, technical reporting, and simulation-based recommendations for global manufacturing operations. Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications) Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/ Chemical/ Paint Engineering, or a related field with a certification or special interest in AI and Data Science. 5+ years of experience in Digital Transformation, Digital Twin/Digital Thread implementation, Industrial Automation, XR technologies, and Vision Systems within automotive or discrete manufacturing environments with an ability to translate business requirements into scalable digital and automation solutions. Proven experience in developing and deploying AI/ML, Smart Factory, Advanced Analytics, Computer Vision, and Digital Twin solutions for manufacturing applications. Hands-on experience in Digital Twin, XR, and industrial metaverse platforms (NVIDIA Omniverse, Siemens Xcelerator, Azure Digital Twins, 3DEXPERIENCE, etc.) preferred. Knowledge of AI/ML technologies including LLMs, RAG, TensorFlow, PyTorch, deep learning frameworks, ETL pipelines, and Databricks. Proficiency in Python, SQL, C++, C#, VB Script, APIs, data pipelines, Power BI dashboards, and AI-agent workflow development for industrial digital solutions. Working knowledge of CAD automation platforms and APIs (AutoCAD, NX Open, CATIA CAA, SolidWorks API) preferred. Familiarity with industrial robotics and simulation tools such as FANUC, Dürr systems, ROS 2, Isaac Sim, and DDS is an advantage. Knowledge of automotive paint shop processes, equipment, materials, and manufacturing operations. Experience in automotive paint shop launches, facility execution, process setup, and virtual commissioning preferred. Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Willingness to travel globally based on business requirements (up to 50-70%).
