What You Will Do
We are seeking an Intern for our Avionics Software Tools team based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The Avionics Software Tools team is an Avionics software tools focused team, with responsibilities for Avionics Function tools--delivering tools that configure Avionics products--and Integrated Modular Architecture systems tools that enable systems engineers to design and deploy aircraft software and systems I/O for aircraft platforms. This engineer will work in a team of software and systems engineers driving solutions for DO-330 qualified tools, simulation and infrastructure tools for multiple avionics teams. The team supports Collins Avionics Commercial and Military platforms. Our team builds cloud and desktop environments for use in dev ops pipelines, desktop deployments and external customers that enable configuration of Avionics products used on aircraft. Perform in a cross-functional agile team Work in close coordination with a mentor using Collins Aerospace engineering processes Develop tools used in Avionics for software development in a Dev Ops environment Demonstrate completed project at Summer Engineering Project (SEPP) demo fair What You Will Learn How tools are developed and used in Avionics for certification of airborne software and aircraft systems How to work in a multidisciplinary team delivering solutions used by Collins engineers to produce Avionics products Qualifications You Must Have Coding Higher level languages like Python, or relevant languages (C/C++, Java) Must have a minimum of 60 hours of credit by the start of the internship / co-op session. Must be pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session. Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.
