In this position... Controls Research Engineer – Develop control systems for gasoline and hybrid powertrains and sub-systems, including Air, Fuel, Spark, EGR and aftertreatment. Employ advanced control methods (examples: Model Predictive Control, Adaptive Control, Optimal Control) and signal processing techniques for new powertrain technologies and to improve existing control system performance and robustness. Develop models and simulations to support system characterization, control design, implementation and validation. Develop engine diagnostics for OBD regulation. Collect and analyze experimental engine and vehicle data. Design experiments to support validation of engine control systems. Provide input for engine and vehicle instrumentation. Implement algorithms into embedded controller code C language. Leverage software version control in clearcase, Git Hub.
