Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Staff Avionics Engineer- Technical Volume Lead to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals at our Melbourne, FL and will be based within our office spaces to support the program and business needs. Operating on our 9/80 schedule means you will get every other Friday off. This position has NO Hybrid or Remote work available Candidate will contribute to writing technical volumes, story boarding proposal strategies for Mission Processing, Flight Operation, and Communications design and testing, and creating other capture effort documentation, while planning the execution program. Primary goal will be to develop technical documentation describing various elements of the proposal and offering. Candidate shall be capable of describing the design, integration, test, installation and operation of the Flight Operation, Mission Processing, and Communication Systems in an airborne military application. Needs to have the ability to work across sectors and teammates to review subcontract proposals. Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work well in a close team environment Basic Qualifications: Must have a Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 12 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; OR a Master’s degree in a (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 10 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; or a Ph.D. (STEM) AND 8 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering. Experience managing subcontracts, and other contributors to create a compliant Technical Volume Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation) and any program access required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company Ability to obtain and maintain US Government Top Secret clearance Preferred Experience: Understanding of program strategic partners and suppliers, including development, acquisition, acceptance, qualification, system integration and test support Proven experience in proposal development and capture management, collaborating with cross-functional teams to strategize, draft, and deliver compelling proposals for government and defense contracts Review documents from the supplier’s development effort and support supplier technical interchange meetings and design reviews. Technical understanding of program strategic partners and suppliers, including development, acquisition, acceptance, qualification, system integration and test support.
