Johnson Controls is looking for a Security Service Technician to support commercial customers with expert field service across intrusion, fire alarm, CCTV, and card access systems. You will work as a trusted advisor, helping customers understand system status, resolve service issues, and maintain reliable operations from a remote field location with the tools and equipment needed to work independently.
Role
Overview In this role, you will troubleshoot and service commercial security systems, advise the customer and the customer care center on inspection and system status, and deliver practical solutions at the time of service. The focus is on responsive service, clear communication, and dependable repairs that help customers stay protected and operational.
Key Responsibilities
Repair or replace burglar alarms, fire alarms, CCTV systems, card access systems, and other security equipment. Locate and resolve damaged equipment or wiring, then readjust, repair, or replace inoperative equipment and test it for proper operation. Prepare trouble order forms to document temporary repairs and service actions. Communicate system and inspection status clearly to customers and the customer care center. Coordinate inspections and installations with police, fire departments, or other appropriate agencies when required. Provide recommendations, solutions, and quotes to support customer needs and facility efficiency, including appropriate upselling opportunities. Deliver a high level of customer service and act as a trusted advisor during each service visit. How You Will Do It Own the outcome at the customer site by troubleshooting efficiently, confirming repairs, and keeping safety and integrity front and center. Stay close to the work by tracing faults in wiring or equipment, then readjusting, repairing, or replacing components and testing them for reliable operation. Focus on what matters by giving clear status updates, removing obstacles for customers, and coordinating with the right agencies when inspections or installations are needed. Improve every day by documenting temporary repairs accurately, sharing candid observations, and using each service call to create a better result next time. Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum 3 to 4 years of experience installing and inspecting or repairing Tyco Integrated Security or a comparable product line. Experience with Card Access, CCTV, and IP cameras. HIRSCH Certificate. Excellent communication skills. Electrical or electronic background. Valid driver's license. Computer literacy and the ability to use test equipment such as multi-meters, digital analyzers, and commissioning tools. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
