Cardiac surgery represents end stage treatment in the care continuum for many cardiovascular diseases and this operating unit provides an intimate relationship with the Cardiac Surgeon and Cardiac OR by offering an unparalleled depth and breadth of portfolio. This position is remote to enhance our competitive edge and expand our cross-functional collaboration efforts. This role will require 70% travel to enhance collaboration and ensure successful completion of projects. You will be primarily responsible for the East Coast with emphasis on markets with a high concentration of vascular surgery training programs, academic medical centers, vascular surgery trainees, early-career physicians, and major regional or national vascular surgery conferences. This field-based role will develop and strengthen relationships with vascular surgery training programs and identify educational needs and connect customers with relevant Medtronic resources, including hands-on product education, Medtronic Academy & YES curriculum, regional and national training programs, conference engagements, travel scholarship opportunities, and transition-to-practice resources.
Primary Responsibilities
Trainee & Academic Program Engagement Establish a strong understanding of the vascular surgery training landscape within the assigned geography, including training programs, trainee rosters, graduating physicians, academic centers, and educational needs Partner with training programs and internal stakeholders to identify appropriate opportunities for Medtronic educational support Education & Technology Exposure Coordinate and support opportunities for residents and fellows to receive education and appropriate exposure to Medtronic Aortic therapies, technologies, clinical evidence, and procedural education Partner with local Medtronic teams to facilitate product in-services, simulation activities, case sizing and planning education, Medtronic Academy resources, and other approved educational programs Promote and support participation in the Young Endovascular Specialists (YES) curriculum and other Medtronic Academy educational offerings Identify educational gaps and communicate customer insights to the broader Training & Education team to inform future programming Early Career & Transition to Practice Build relationships with graduating trainees and early-career vascular surgeons as they transition from training into independent practice Maintain continued engagement with emerging physicians following graduation to strengthen long-term educational partnerships. Conference & Regional Program Execution Represent and support at priority national and regional conferences, particularly those concentrated along the East Coast Support educational activities, workshops, simulation programs, dinners, meetings, and other approved engagements associated with key conferences Partner with the national team, local field teams, faculty, and meeting-planning partners to support the successful execution of regional trainee education programs Cross Functional Collaboration Serve as a strategic resource to Medtronic field team; district managers, sales reps, clinical specialists, and ambassadors to strengthen local trainee
