The (Field) Service Engineer (f/m/d) is responsible for the technical setup, operation, maintenance, and optimization of Leica Biosystems equipment provided by the European Demonstration Centre (EDC). The role ensures that all demo environments consistently deliver best‑in‑class performance for customer demonstrations, training sessions, workflow simulations, and internal evaluations This position is part of the EMEA Customer Excellence organization. You will report to the Manager EDC Workshop , working as part of the team that prepares, inspects, maintains and repairs demonstration, loan and field-returned Leica Biosystems equipment. You will work closely with the Workshop Team Leader, Service, Applications, Digital Pathology, Training and support teams to ensure demo assets are ready, compliant and able to deliver a high-quality customer experience. If you enjoy hands-on technical work, structured troubleshooting and interacting with customers & commercial teams, read on. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Set up, operate, maintain and optimize Leica Biosystems systems to support customer demonstrations, training activities and workflow simulations. Prepare, inspect, verify and troubleshoot demo assets in line with workshop priorities set by the Commercial Workshop Team Leader. Manage configuration, calibration, verification, upgrades and readiness checks for all equipment including accessories & software. Diagnose and resolve technical issues across platforms, electromechanical systems, software and network-connected components. Complete maintenance, repair, modification and quality verification activities in line with Leica Biosystems standards and applicable quality requirements. Partner with workshop colleagues, sales, applications, product specialists and service teams to deliver a reliable and compelling demo experience. The essential requirements of the job include: Biomedical or Engineering experience with an associate degree OR equivalent technical work experience. Preferred knowledge of the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of Pathology
