As a Systems Engineer II on our Infrastructure Environment Management Team (EMT), you will play a critical role in designing, configuring, and managing development, software Integration & Test (I&T), system I&T, and performance test factory infrastructure environments. Note: This onsite position is based at our RTX facility in Richardson, TX.
What You Will Do
Serve as the first line of defense in troubleshooting issues arising in multiple Integration & Test (I&T) environments Interface with software engineers to document installation instructions and support I&T staff by modifying environments as required Develop scripts using Bash, Perl, Ruby, or Python to continuously update and monitor system stability and usability Design, configure, and manage development, software I&T, system I&T, and performance test factory infrastructure environments Troubleshoot applications and infrastructure on Linux-based operating systems Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and Free and Open-Source Software (FOSS) into systems Support environment and configuration management activities, including maintaining multiple baselines such as development, testing, and production environments Qualifications You Must Have Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience Experience with Agile Development Methodologies (e.g., Scrum, SAFe) Administrative experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and VMware solutions Experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, Ruby, Bash, C++, C#, or Go Current CompTIA Security+ certification or ability to obtain within 90 days Active and Current TS/SCI with CI Poly security clearance is required Day 1. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance Qualifications We Prefer Hands-on experience with virtualization tools and cloud computing, either private (e.g., VMware, OpenStack) or public (e.g., AWS) Development experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet Exposure to DevOps tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, or Vagrant Experience integrating COTS/FOSS software into systems Familiarity with IT infrastructure architecture and Information Assurance compliance with specified standards (e.g., ICD-503) Prior experience as a system administrator (Linux or Windows) What We Offer Our
