Software Engineer

The Azure Storage Fundamentals team is looking for a talented and highly motivated Software Engineer to help build the next generation of engineering systems and developer productivity platforms that power Azure Storage. Azure Storage is Microsoft's cloud-scale storage platform, serving billions of requests and managing data at a massive scale across the globe. As Azure continues to grow, so does the need for innovative tools, automation, and engineering solutions that enable our teams to build, test, deploy, and operate services with greater speed, reliability, and efficiency.   As a Software Engineer, you will contribute to the design, development, and operation of tools, services, and platforms that support the software development lifecycle for one of Microsoft's most critical cloud businesses. You will work on engineering systems that improve developer experiences, streamline release processes, enhance automation, and enable teams to deliver high-quality software at scale. This is an exciting opportunity to work on large-scale distributed systems while gaining experience with modern engineering practices, cloud technologies, AI-enabled developer experiences, continuous integration and deployment pipelines, and release engineering. Partner with cross-functional teams to understand developer needs and build features that enhance engineering productivity and the overall developer experience. Contribute to the design, development, and evolution of engineering platforms, tools, and services that support software development and release processes at scale. Write clean, maintainable, and high-quality code while applying software engineering best practices for reliability, performance, security, and scalability. Collaborate with teammates to break down complex technical challenges, estimate work, and deliver solutions that create measurable impact. Support the operational health of services through monitoring, troubleshooting, incident response, and continuous improvement of system reliability. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline with proven experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience. Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals, including: Data structures, Algorithms, Object-oriented design, Software development principles.
