Department Overview A strong risk culture and disciplined risk management are fundamental to TD’s success. TD applies a Three Lines of Defense model that balances clear business ownership of risk with independent oversight. As part of the first line, the Canadian Commercial Bank Governance and Control team supports the business in identifying, assessing, managing and reporting risks within risk appetite.

Job Description

Reporting to the Manager, Governance and Control, the Senior Governance and Control Analyst supports Canadian Commercial Bank by leading defined governance and control activities, providing first-line oversight and effective challenge, and driving timely remediation of identified risk and control gaps. What you do The Senior Governance and Control Analyst provides first-line oversight, effective challenge and advice to Canadian Commercial Bank. The role identifies risk and control issues, recommends actions, and executes control testing. •   Serve as a governance and control subject matter expert, advising business stakeholders on risk assessment, control design, process effectiveness and remediation. •   Evaluate end-to-end processes, identify control gaps and improvement opportunities, and recommend practical actions that strengthen effectiveness and efficiency. •   Complete control testing in accordance with established standards, document clear and supportable conclusions, and escalate identified deficiencies for timely remediation.   •   Partner with business and functional stakeholders resolve issues and develop remediation plans in line with Enterprise Issue Management standard.   •   Build trusted relationships across the business and risk functions to influence outcomes, provide effective challenge and secure clear ownership of actions. •   Maintain current knowledge of emerging business, industry, regulatory and risk management developments and apply relevant methodologies, tools and insights to strengthen risk capabilities. •   Strengthen team capability by sharing knowledge, coaching colleagues and contributing to an inclusive, respectful and diverse environment.

What you will bring

Strong knowledge of governance, risk management, controls and related procedures, strategies and practices. Demonstrated ability to analyze complex information, conduct research, exercise sound judgement and prioritize work across competing deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication, collaboration and relationship management skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders. Self-directed, adaptable and quick to learn, with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Undergraduate degree preferred; relevant risk management certification is an asset.
