About this role

We are seeking a Wellness Coach who is committed to working a part-time schedule of 20 hours per week , Monday through Friday, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting individuals in achieving their health and wellness goals through lifestyle and behavior change strategies. A National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC) is highly preferred. The primary focus of this role is to provide individual wellness coaching, lifestyle and behavior change support, goal setting, and member engagement through virtual and telephonic visits. The Wellness Coach will partner with members to promote healthy habits, improve overall well-being, and support sustainable behavior change. Note: Work location is on-site with the flexibility to work remotely (PART-TIME), the primary location will be in-office for meetings, per Kaiser Permanente-s Authorized States Policy - Employees may be required to travel to a Kaiser Permanente or customer site. Residency required in the primary location: 9 Piedmont Center, 3495 Piedmont Rd., NE, Atlanta, 30305 Job Summary: Presents, and educates on health education programs and services. This includes coordinating and delivering trainings or other educational encounters, assisting in maintaining and updating educational and training resources, and helping to collect and analyze data from classes and programs. Roles in this subfunction also assess and understand the individual needs of trainees, both from a classroom perspective and a broader population perspective.

Essential Responsibilities

Supports the completion of priorities, deadlines, and expectations. Identifies and speaks up for ways to address improvement opportunities. Helps assesses and understands member needs by: helping identify individual needs, interests, abilities, and a variety of learning styles; adjusting teaching style to meet the needs of participants, to create an inclusive environment which exceeds the needs of diverse individuals; and assisting other health education staff to refer members to additional health promotion resources/services, when appropriate. Helps collect, analyze, and report on data by: helping to obtain and enter valid, reliable data such as attendance, utilization, referrals, evaluations, and course assignment scores; helping analyze data and find areas for improvement in the course; and helping present data and findings from courses taught to keep relevant parties informed about course progress and initiatives, including department leaders and other stakeholders. Helps educate and train members by: providing evidence-based education information to members in single interactions (e.g., a class, a group or one-on-one encounter); ensuring members learn about a requested content area by providing resources for continued education; creating a welcoming atmosphere that encourages learning when interacting with members; and independently providing information or resources that help translate evidence-based concepts into simple and understandable information for members.
