Sr. Maintenance Planner About Site Our FDA-licensed, state-of-the-art CGMP manufacturing facility for Gene Therapies is located on the Harmans/BWI campus. The campus, featuring two manufacturing facilities is located 5 miles from the Baltimore Washington International (BWI) airport and 13 miles from our Baltimore location. The campus is close to Washington, DC’s I-270 Technology Corridor, top universities, and government agencies. The Harmans/BWI-1 EMA and FDA approved facility, at approximately 200,000 sq. ft., houses 10 CGMP manufacturing suites, fill/finish, central services, testing labs, and a warehouse. The Harmans/BWI-2 facility, at approximately 145,000 sq. ft., is under development and will house 8 CGMP manufacturing suites and cold storage warehousing. Both facilities support Phase 3 through commercial manufacturing of advanced therapeutic products including AAV and other viral vector-based therapies and vaccines.
Position
Summary We have an opportunity for a Sr. Maintenance Planner to join our team. In this role, you will support maintenance planning activities by scheduling resources, parts, and equipment access. You will ensure all work complies with cGMP and company procedures. This position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a dynamic environment while providing excellent customer service to internal teams. Shift: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm Location: Harmans, MD - BWI 100% Onsite The Role Coordinate and schedule equipment maintenance, downtime, shutdowns, equipment improvements, and validation activities to minimize operational impact and maximize asset availability. Manage corrective and preventive maintenance activities by prioritizing work orders based on criticality, downtime risk, and business needs. Develop maintenance schedules, work plans, and work order packages for GMP process equipment while ensuring timely execution and completion. Utilize and administer CMMS/asset management systems to create, assign, track, and close work orders, maintain asset records, and support data accuracy. Partner with technicians, supervisors, engineers, vendors, and contractors to coordinate labor, repairs, maintenance activities, and equipment service requirements. Communicate regularly with manufacturing, quality, engineering, and facilities teams to provide maintenance updates, resolve issues, and support operational priorities. Lead or participate in daily huddles, shift handoffs, tier meetings, and cross-functional planning discussions to align maintenance activities with production schedules. Support regulatory inspections, customer audits, and compliance initiatives by maintaining accurate maintenance records, equipment documentation, and GMP-related data. Analyze maintenance data and asset performance metrics to support KPI reporting, resource planning, continuous improvement, and reliability initiatives. Provide CMMS guidance and training to technicians, planners, and other site personnel while promoting standardized maintenance planning and execution practices. Apply strong planning, organization, customer service, and problem-solving skills in a dynamic manufacturing environment while adhering to all safety, quality, and GMP requirements, including occasional off-shift, weekend, or holiday support. Basic understanding of root cause analysis and asset management principles Familiarity with engineering drawings, technical manuals, and OEM documentation Strong understanding of OSHA safety practices and procedures preferred Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
