Job Description : Quality Control Technician-Los Angeles, California Huntsman is seeking a Quality Control Technician to support quality laboratory operations at our Los Angeles chemical manufacturing site. This hands-on role performs accurate and timely testing of raw materials, in-process materials, intermediates, and finished products to support manufacturing, packaging, and product release decisions. Job   Scope:

Key Responsibilities

Laboratory Testing & Production Support Perform accurate and timely testing of raw materials, in-process samples, intermediates, and finished products in accordance with approved specifications and test methods. Prioritize testing based on manufacturing, packaging, and product release needs, including time-sensitive and longer-term testing. Perform laboratory testing that may include viscosity, density or specific gravity, moisture, color, appearance, hardness, mechanical testing, DSC, FTIR, titrations, wet chemistry, and other applicable methods. Accurately interpret, document, and communicate test results. Identify and promptly escalate nonconforming, abnormal, or questionable results. Support timely production and material release decisions while maintaining quality requirements. Laboratory Operations & Documentation Maintain complete and accurate laboratory records, notebooks, logs, and electronic records. Enter test results and material status in SAP or other approved systems. Maintain proper identification, storage, traceability, and integrity of retained samples. Safely operate and maintain assigned laboratory instruments and equipment. Complete required equipment checks and request calibration, service, or repair when needed. Maintain laboratory reagents, supplies, and work areas to support uninterrupted operations. Safety, Quality & Continuous Improvement Follow applicable EHS, quality, laboratory, chemical-handling, PPE, and waste-management requirements. Safely work with reactive and hazardous chemicals and exercise stop-work responsibility when unsafe conditions are identified. Complete required technical, quality, and safety training. Participate in investigations, troubleshooting, capability studies, Gage R&R activities, and continuous improvement initiatives. Continue developing technical capability through the site’s qualification program and support training of others when qualified. Team & Manufacturing Support Communicate effectively with Production, Quality, Planning, Inventory Control, Logistics, and other functions. Manage changing priorities while maintaining accuracy, attention to detail, and timely completion of testing. Work independently and collaboratively to support a continuous manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

You must   possess   the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the   minimum   requirements and are considered a plus factor in   identifying   top candidates.     The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in the United   States.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required. One of the following: Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Science, or a related field with hands-on laboratory coursework; or Associate degree in Chemistry or a related field plus at least two years of laboratory or manufacturing experience; or At least four years of laboratory technician, quality control, chemical manufacturing, adhesives manufacturing, or comparable technical manufacturing experience. Skills and knowledge Knowledge of basic computer applications and mathematics, as well as aptitude for learning SAP and other applicable systems. Ability to read, understand, and accurately complete laboratory, quality, and manufacturing documentation. Ability to safely work with reactive, hazardous, and industrial chemicals.
