Learn more about our benefits .      As a Systems Engineer, you’ll design, integrate, and optimize complex systems that drive the semiconductor industry forward. Your expertise in systems thinking and problem-solving is essential as you collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop advanced solutions to intricate processes and writing system specifications. You’ll be responsible for analyzing requirements, defining system architectures, conducting thorough testing, and ensuring seamless integration of subsystems. Additionally, you’ll identify and mitigate risks, confirming that our systems meet the highest quality standards and exceed customer expectations.       The Program Join the Fusion team in 2027! Fusion is a rotational training program within the Applied Materials Semiconductor Equipment business unit located in Gloucester, MA. It is designed to attract, assimilate, grow, and retain the most talented engineers entering the industry today. During the first two years of employment, Fusion engineers go through a series of rotational assignments and work on cutting-edge designs to enable next generation technologies. The rotations typically consist of three or four unique engineering departmental assignments and one manufacturing department assignment. These rotations help Fusion members and managers determine where the Fusion member will flourish in their full-time position at Applied Materials. Program starts in summer 2027, on-site at our Gloucester, MA campus Responsibilities: Performs routine assignments in the entry level to a professional job progression. Typically has knowledge of and exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts. Develops competence by performing structured work assignments. Uses existing procedures to solve routine or standard problems. Receives instruction, guidance, and direction from others.

Include: Write the portion of the system engineering specification pertaining to field of technical expertise.  Work on system engineering projects that have a substantial mix of electrical, mechanical, physics, algorithms and software design utilizing expertise in technical area of specialty. Perform tests and provide feedback to product engineering and software on new designs and ongoing engineering improvements. Problem identification and troubleshooting engineering problems in field of technical expertise, including serviceability and manufacturability. Work with System Integration during the assembly and final testing of all products. Become familiar with the MRS and assure that all new designs of hardware and software are reliable, safe, user friendly and maintainable by the field.
