About this role

This role serves as the EU, UK, and Middle East (EMEA) regional subject matter expert for dangerous goods transportation regulations, ensuring compliance across Honeywell and third-party logistics sites through regulatory guidance, training, audits, incident management, and performance monitoring. This role partners with Health Safety Environment (HSE), Logistics, Sourcing, Engineering, Product Stewardship, carriers, and site teams to classify materials, manage transportation risks, and maintain compliant operations across countries, modes of transport, and applicable dangerous goods regulations.

Responsibilities include

Serve as ADR / UN Regulation Subject Matter Expert, including country-specific variations on road and air requirements in Middle East and UK

Fulfill legal requirement per EU regulations as Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor, responsible for ensuring compliance with requirements specific to training, site audits, and annual report for applicable sites

Maintain current and appropriate DG training certifications in IATA, IMDG, ADR, 49CFR, DGSA

Provide guidance and regulatory interpretation to all EMEA HSE leads and Dangerous Goods Site Contacts on transportation requirements for dangerous goods / hazardous materials per the current regulations.

Develop and deliver compliant and approved function-specific training per ADR 1.3.2 to Honeywell EMEA sites

Assess function-specific and site-specific training needs for Site DG employees per the UN, IATA CBT, ADR, DGSA requirements

Coordinate or develop training through use of internal training modules, corporate trainings, or external consultants for sites and respective personnel to meet global regulatory requirements. Prepare and distribute specialized trainings as needed for specific changes in regulations, mode/carrier/country restrictions, or site-specific requirements.

Provide classification information for HON-manufactured (ODM) materials and work with Sourcing, Engineering, and Product Stewardship teams to provide classification information for purchase-complete (BTS) items. Support correct DG material setup in SAP and other ERP systems.

Provide customized training for EMEA sites to support regional DG requirements, including carrier escalation process, GBE-specific product regulatory information, and site-specific support.

Report transportation regulatory incidents to respective functions, management, and Corporate Transportation Safety Leader per required process. Work with DGC’s, Logistics, and HSE teams to ensure all transportation safety incidents are entered into corporate tracking tool and regulatory response reviewed as required.

Participate in NPI/Z21 process and provide classification information, regional/country/mode restrictions, and potential regulatory constraints for new materials.

Establish, gather and analyze transportation safety performance metrics for shipping sites by SBG/GBE/Region, including 3PL sites. Support target performance and process goals per Corporate Compliance metrics.

Lead risk-based audits, performance metrics, and corrective-action closure across Honeywell and third-party logistics sites.

Ensure complete DG information is provided to all 3PL’s per legal requirements, including but not limited to classification, emergency response, and product-specific information.

Support SBG/GBE Transportation teams working with carriers/freight forwarders to set up approved DG accounts, identify mode/lane constraints, and train on carrier requirements.

Ensure SBG compliance with Corporate HSE level 2 standards for dangerous goods and transportation compliance. Develop and distribute SBG- or GBE-specific standards as required.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in logistics, transportation, supply chain, engineering, HSE, or a related field, or at least five years of directly relevant professional experience.
