As an Environmental Specialist III or IV , you will provide technical expertise and regulatory guidance to support the development, operation, and maintenance of Williams assets. This role is responsible for managing environmental permitting and compliance activities related to NEPA, water resources, cultural resources, and natural resource requirements. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies to advance projects while ensuring compliance with applicable environmental regulations and commitments. Responsibilities/Expectations Develop and maintain relationships with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies to support environmental permitting and compliance activities. Lead environmental permitting activities, including preparation and submission of permit applications, environmental studies, regulatory documentation, permitting schedules, and consultant coordination to support project execution. Interpret and apply environmental regulations and requirements to support project development, construction, operation, and maintenance activities. Evaluate environmental risks, conduct compliance audits and due diligence assessments, recommend mitigation measures, and support regulatory compliance throughout project execution. Provide technical expertise in environmental regulations and permitting programs, including NEPA, FERC, the Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act (ESA), and National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), while monitoring regulatory developments and evaluating impacts to project execution and compliance strategies. Support construction-phase environmental compliance by monitoring permit conditions, restoration commitments, spill prevention requirements, and other environmental obligations through project completion. Prepare reports, presentations, and communications for leadership, project teams, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders. Environmental Specialist III: Manage environmental permitting and compliance activities for projects and programs of moderate complexity while working independently and collaborating with project teams, consultants, and regulatory agencies to achieve business objectives. Environmental Specialist IV: Serve as a subject matter expert in environmental permitting and regulatory compliance, leading permitting strategies and environmental activities for large, complex, or high-profile projects while providing technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to others. Education/Years of Experience: Environmental Specialist III Required: Bachelor's degree and minimum four (4) years' environmental experience Environmental Specialist IV Required: Bachelor's degree and minimum eight (8) years' environmental experience Other Requirements Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and PC skills. Strong knowledge of federal and state environmental permitting processes, including FERC and NEPA requirements. Ability to manage multiple permits across large-scale projects with aggressive deadlines. Skilled in developing permitting timelines and integrating them into overall project schedules. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for agency coordination and stakeholder engagement. Ability to build collaborative relationships and effectively influence internal and external stakeholders. Commitment to environmental stewardship and regulatory compliance.
