Summary We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst to support data-led technology initiatives across Wealth & Asset Management and Capital Markets. The role will focus on requirements analysis, data mapping, SQL-based investigation, API understanding, documentation, testing support, and close collaboration with business and technology teams. The candidate will contribute to solutions involving consolidated order/trade data stores, multiple asset classes, system integrations, workflow design, and data-flow analysis. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Gather, interpret, and document business, functional, technical, and data requirements from written inputs and stakeholder discussions. Analyze order, trade, portfolio, client, reference, market, and reporting data across multiple systems and business lines. Create BRDs, FRDs, FSD inputs, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, data mappings, and data dictionaries. Perform source-to-target data mapping, field-level analysis, data profiling, SQL investigation, data validation, and reconciliation checks. Work with technology teams to clarify database requirements, API expectations, JSON/XML payloads, integration points, and downstream data needs. Support development and QA teams by explaining requirements, resolving clarifications, reviewing test scenarios, and validating test coverage. Facilitate SIT/UAT support, defect analysis, issue tracking, remediation follow-up, and business sign-off coordination. Use Agile practices to support backlog refinement, sprint planning, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and workstream status updates. Use GenAI tools responsibly to accelerate requirements drafting, analysis summaries, test preparation, data investigation, and documentation quality. Translate technical concepts into business language and business requirements into technology-ready specifications.
Qualifications
5-8 years of relevant experience as a Business Analyst, Technical Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or Technology Consultant. Experience in Financial Services, with preference for Wealth Management, Asset Management, Capital Markets, trading systems, investment platforms, or reporting platforms. Good understanding of order/trade lifecycle and one or more asset classes such as equities, options, fixed income, mutual funds, ETFs, structured products, derivatives, or alternatives. Hands-on experience with data mapping, data analysis, data validation, reconciliation, data migration, and data-quality issue investigation. Strong SQL skills for querying, data checks, root-cause analysis, and reconciliation support. Understanding of REST APIs, web services, JSON/XML payloads, Postman, and system integration concepts. Experience creating BRDs, FRDs, user stories, functional requirements, technical requirements, and acceptance criteria. Working knowledge of SDLC, Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, Jira or similar ALM tools, and documentation tools such as Confluence. Practical AI-native mindset with ability to use tools such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Azure AI, or similar platforms to improve productivity and quality.
