EH&S – P3 ( EH&S Engineer) Develops, implements, and ensures continuous improvement of the Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S) ecosystem. As a part of a winning team, the primary purposes are 1) maintaining compliance with the requirements of Boston Scientific’s corporate EH&S policies and requirements and all applicable national, state, and local regulations, 2) driving EH&S performance improvements across the site, and 3) capturing and communicating information describing EH&S roles, responsibilities and contribution. Responsibilities
Maintain and report site EH&S metrics, statistics and records to maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, support the ISO 14001 EMS, and fulfill Corporate reporting and information needs. Support management of the Workers’ Compensation program, and pro-actively work to reduce workplace injury frequency and severity rates. Professional contacts with approved waste vendors. Act as the facility’s Pollution Prevention/Waste Minimization/Recycling Site representative. Promote cost-savings/cost-avoidance measures throughout all operations of the facility. Advocate for EH&S as a core value of Boston Scientific and provide regular communications within the EH&S team regarding EH&S activities and performance. Serve on the facility Emergency Response team. Chair or serve on EH&S-related committees, task forces and/or cross functional teams. Conduct EH&S compliance audits, self-assessments, and inspections throughout the facilities. Conduct chemical and MSDS risk assessments, as well as operations risk assessments to specify engineering controls, and other regulatory requirements as applicable. Identify hazardous workplace conditions and establishes guidelines for compliance, risk and injury reduction. Takes effective steps to ensure that workplace conditions comply with applicable local, national and state regulations.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in engineering Minimum of three (6) years of experience in EHS, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health, or a related field within a manufacturing or industrial environment. Basic knowledge of industrial hygiene principles, including exposure assessments, air sampling, noise monitoring, respiratory protection, ergonomics, and occupational health programs. Experience supporting or conducting industrial hygiene surveys, workplace risk assessments, and exposure control initiatives. Experience leading or participating in incident and accident investigations, including root cause analysis and development of corrective and preventive actions. Experience supporting emergency preparedness and response programs, including emergency drills, incident response, and coordination with internal and external emergency response teams. Experience developing and delivering EHS training programs related to safety, industrial hygiene, emergency response, regulatory compliance, and environmental, health, and safety requirements. Working knowledge of applicable OSHA regulations and recognized occupational health and safety standards and best practices. Strong interpersonal, communication, presentation, and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage employees at all organizational levels.
