We have an opportunity for a Quality Director to join our Apex, NC team. You will lead and execute the quality strategy, to include governance, culture, and continuous improvement in the Pool Business Unit. This role is responsible for defining how quality is governed and reinforced across the organization, ensuring that Product, Engineering, Operations, Supply, and Customer Service execute within a consistent, disciplined quality system. This position reports directly to the Chief Supply Chain Officer of Pool and works in close partnership with cross-functional leaders, reflecting the critical interface between quality governance and operational execution. You will: Quality Strategy Develop and execute the company’s quality Vision, Strategy, and Objectives. Lead the quality management system (QMS) deployment, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives. Monitor performance metrics and lead initiatives to improve customer satisfaction, reliability, and yield. Quality Governance & Programs Own and deploy quality programs (Quality Culture initiatives, leading indicators). Establish and maintain compliance frameworks aligned with enterprise Quality Management System requirements. Ensure consistent application of quality standards across Product, Engineering, Operations, Supply, and Customer Service. Quality Culture Leadership Drive a culture of quality, accountability, and customer focus throughout the organization. Lead the Quality Culture strategy, including expectations, behaviors, and reinforcement mechanisms. Partner with functional leaders to embed quality‑first decision making, early escalation, and prevention mindset. Define and track leading indicators of quality culture health (e.g., escalation behavior, corrective action discipline). Risk, Escalation & Warranty Exposure Govern warranty exposure, trends, and systemic risk mitigation in partnership with Customer Service and Finance. Lead cross‑functional reviews of significant quality events, ensuring permanent corrective action. Serve as the quality risk integrator across Product, Engineering, Operations, Supply, and Service. Quality System & Continuous Improvement Govern deployment and effectiveness of enterprise and business quality systems (QMS, APQP governance, audits). Monitor quality performance trends and drive systemic corrective actions. Support continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen reliability, compliance, and customer trust. Key Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Quality, or related technical discipline. 10+ years of experience in Quality leadership, governance, or systems roles. Ability to travel up to 50% as required to support business objectives and customer needs. Demonstrated experience leading quality governance, compliance, or enterprise programs. Strong understanding of: Quality Management Systems Risk escalation and corrective action frameworks. Warranty and field‑risk management Proven ability to influence senior functional leaders without direct authority. Experience operating in matrixed, cross‑functional environments. Strong analytical, facilitation, and executive communication skills. Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, or similar methodologies preferred. Systems thinker with strong business acumen. Credible leader who can balance governance with empowerment. Comfortable making and escalating difficult risk‑based decisions.
