The Infrastructure Engineer will be a key contributor to Jack Henry Digital’s Cloud Infrastructure team, responsible for building and operating the core systems that enable scalable, reliable delivery of application and infrastructure services in Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Our team owns deployment pipelines and collaborates closely with platform teams to deliver computing, identity, observability, tooling, and security capabilities across the organization. We also collaborate with product engineering teams to build high performance, scalable, and secure services that power core business functions including transactions, payments, deposits, transfers, authentication, and platform integrations. Our work sits at the heart of the platform and directly enables teams across the company to move faster, more safely. This position may be worked remotely within the United States, with the exception of California. All positions, regardless of location, may require an onsite interview or in-person onboarding requirement to verify your identity. What you’ll be responsible for: Plan, design, and build the core infrastructure systems used by Jack Henry’s development and engineering teams. Debug critical production infrastructure issues impacting multiple services or sites, performing deep root cause analysis to prevent recurrence. Design and operate systems with a strong focus on site health and reliability, enabling automated workload movement and failure avoidance. Use software development skills (e.g., Go, Python) to build and enhance platform solutions that improve developer velocity and accelerate feature delivery. Act as a proactive collaborator promoting engineering best practices in design and coding standards. Partner closely with engineering teams to understand priorities and evolving needs, ensuring platform solutions keep pace with product development. Engineer technical challenges and drive them to successful completion. May perform other job duties as assigned. What you’ll need to have: Minimum 4 years of experience in Software Development, DevOps or with Cloud Infrastructure. Hands-on experience deploying and managing infrastructure in Kubernetes clusters. Practical experience in declarative service infrastructure environments, specifically using Terraform. Experience in GCP, Azure or AWS cloud environment. Programming experience and proficiency in Go or Python. Experience with CI/CD pipeline tools such as GitHub Actions or CircleCI. Familiarity with operating in a Unix/Linux and Windows environment. What would be nice for you to have: Bachelor’s degree in software engineering or computer science Proficiency building and scaling large enterprise pipelines. Experience managing production environments in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Experience with modern deployment tools such as Akuity, Kargo, or Dagger.io. Familiarity with Agile/Scrum processes and operating within various methods of implementation. For engineers, we value a highly informed and principle-driven approach to building infrastructure.
