Overview
Are you excited about developing cloud services and platform capabilities that help power intelligent experiences for Microsoft customers? The Ada Engineering organization in the India Development Center (IDC) builds infrastructure and operational systems for AI-powered experiences, Copilot services, and large-scale model operations. You will work with engineers across distributed cloud services, AI infrastructure, model serving, capacity management, deployment automation, data platforms, telemetry, and operational tooling. As a Software Engineer II in Ada Engineering, you will design, implement, test, deploy, and operate production software with support from experienced engineers. You will collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements, contribute to technical designs, break down and estimate work, and improve the reliability and maintainability of services. This opportunity will allow you to deepen your distributed-systems expertise, learn how large-scale AI infrastructure is operated, and develop live-site and engineering practices for reliable cloud services. Responsibilities
Work with appropriate stakeholders to determine user and system requirements for a set of features. Contribute to identifying dependencies and developing design documents for a product area with little oversight. Create, implement, test, debug, and reuse code for a product, service, platform, or feature. Contribute to breaking down larger work items into smaller work items and provide estimates. Act as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) in on-call rotations to monitor services for degradation, downtime, or interruptions and gain approval to restore service for simple problems. Remain current in relevant technologies and practices that improve availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, performance, monitoring, and operations at scale.
Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python. OR equivalent experience. Additional or preferred qualifications Other Requirements: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field AND 4+ years of technical engineering experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python. OR master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field AND 2+ years of technical engineering experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python. OR equivalent experience. Experience developing, testing, or operating distributed cloud services, platform infrastructure, or data-intensive systems.
