   About this opportunity: Ericsson’s Patent Creation Management is part of the Business Area IPR & Licensing and supports research and development teams worldwide in patent matters. Ericsson has one of the ICT industry’s largest patent portfolios, covering cellular technology, consumer electronics, cloud, networks and more.   We are expanding one of our Patent Units in Kista, Sweden, and are looking for a Patent Attorney or part-qualified Patent Attorney to support innovation in Radio Access Network implementation and transport technologies. This is an opportunity to contribute to the development of 5G, 6G and future communication technologies while working with technical and legal experts globally.

What you will do

Advise research and development teams on intellectual property matters and work closely with technical inventors. Evaluate inventions. Draft, file and manage patent applications through examination and grant. Coordinate national filings with internal teams, external counsel and patent offices worldwide. Prepare claim charts, develop patent strategies and work with patent portfolio management. Support licensing, litigation, oppositions and other patent-related activities, depending on your experience and interests. Participate in technical discussions with engineers, patent professionals and external counsel. Contribute to projects and working groups that improve patent processes, tools and ways of working. Manage several activities while collaborating with colleagues across different countries and functions.   The skills you bring:   A degree in engineering, physics, computer science, electrical engineering or a related field. Experience in patents as a Patent Attorney, part-qualified Patent Attorney, patent examiner or patent engineer. An interest in technical, business and legal matters, including patent strategy and portfolio management. Experience as an inventor or expert, in Radio Access Network implementation and transport technologies is a advantage. Strong analytical and organisational skills, attention to detail and a practical approach to problem-solving. The ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively. Clear communication skills and the ability to work with diverse teams across cultures and locations. Motivation to learn and improve processes and tools, including the use of AI-based tools for patent drafting and prosecution. Proficiency in English.
