Senior Engineer

Job Area: Engineering Group, Engineering Group > Systems Test Engineering General Summary: Qualcomm's Location Technology team is seeking an Engineer or Senior Engineer to validate and commercialize next-generation positioning solutions across Mobile, Automotive, Wearables, XR, and IoT platforms. This role focuses on system-level validation of GNSS, Assisted GNSS, Advanced Positioning, sensor fusion, cellular, and Wi-Fi positioning technologies that deliver industry-leading location experiences. The candidate will work closely with Systems, Software, Algorithms, and Product teams to develop test strategies, analyze performance, debug complex issues, and drive feature commercialization. In addition to test execution, this role is expected to improve engineering productivity through automation, data analytics, and AI-assisted workflows that accelerate test development, log analysis, KPI evaluation, and reporting. Minimum Qualifications: •    Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Systems Test Engineering or related work experience. OR Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Systems Test Engineering or related work experience. OR PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.

Develop and execute system-level test plans for GNSS and Advanced Positioning features. Analyze logs, traces, and field data to identify root causes and drive issue resolution. Evaluate multi-sensor location solutions combining GNSS, cellular, Wi-Fi, and inertial sensors. Develop automation tools, data-analysis pipelines, and scalable validation frameworks to improve test coverage and engineering efficiency. Leverage AI-assisted workflows for test execution, log post-processing, KPI review, issue triage, and report generation. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support feature development, qualification, commercialization readiness, and customer deployments. Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance productivity, test quality, and time-to-market.

GNSS, Assisted GNSS, Advanced Positioning, or wireless systems experience. Experience with Python, automation frameworks, data analytics, AI/ML tools, or agentic workflows. Strong debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills. Knowledge of RTK, sensor fusion, LTE/5G, and Wi-Fi positioning. Experience with Android-based systems and wireless test environments.
