Job Description
AECOM is seeking an Entry-Level Structural Engineer to join our AECOM Transportation Department in our Hunt Valley, MD office. As an Entry-Level Structural Engineer, you will work with multi-discipline project teams in developing a range of engineering solutions from initial concepts to detailed design development and through construction. This is a diverse role that will involve your contributions and insight into the effective delivery of the department’s current and future portfolio of projects. This role is expected to start Summer 2027. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Performing assignments related to the design, analysis, rehabilitation and inspection of highway bridges and ancillary structures. Preparing engineering related calculations and developing drawings and visual aids Performing condition inspections of highway or other structures in a variety of environments including confined spaces and at height (proper training and personal protection equipment will be provided) Working under the supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member Qualifications Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering Due to the nature of the work US citizenship is required Preferred Qualifications: 0-2 years of experience Master’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering Engineer-In-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position including typical office applications (Word, Excel, etc.) and drafting or modeling applications (MicroStation, AutoCad, etc.) Proficiency in Steel and Concrete Design and Analysis Ability to perform field work (bridge inspections, drilling inspections) Good communication skills, including aptitude for technical report writing Flexibility to occasionally work alternate schedules (nights, weekends and holidays) and short-notice work assignments depending on project needs Knowledge of Geotechnical Engineering (soils, foundations, etc.) Additional Information Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
