Job Description
This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Location expectations: This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week. US Bank is seeking a .NET Software Engineer to join a collaborative technology delivery team that designs, develops, and supports applications serving Finance and other business functions across the bank. This role provides the opportunity to build meaningful technology solutions, work directly with business stakeholders, and see the real-world impact of the applications you develop. This person will develop and enhance primarily web-based applications using C# and .NET, build new functionality from business requirements and user stories, and support existing applications through troubleshooting, bug fixes, security remediation, testing, and ongoing production support. The engineer will work with relational databases and participate throughout the full software development lifecycle, from solution design and development through deployment, maintenance, and enhancement.
Main Responsibilities
Design, develop, and enhance web-based applications using C# and .NET. Build new application features based on business requirements, user stories, and project needs. Develop and maintain data-driven applications that integrate with relational databases. Troubleshoot production issues and implement application defect fixes. Identify and remediate application security vulnerabilities. Write and execute unit tests, functional tests, and application validation activities. Participate in application design, development, testing, deployment, and production support. Maintain and enhance existing applications to improve stability, security, and functionality. Collaborate with software engineers, technical team members, and business stakeholders. Support multiple applications and contribute to team-specific and cross-functional initiatives. Take ownership of assigned solutions throughout their development and operational lifecycle. Must Have Skills: 2+ years of professional software development experience. Professional experience developing applications with C# and .NET. Experience building and supporting web-based applications. Experience working with relational databases and data-driven applications. Ability to develop application functionality from business requirements or user stories. Experience troubleshooting, maintaining, and supporting production applications. Experience implementing bug fixes, enhancements, or application vulnerability remediations. Current hands-on software development experience.
Nice to Have
Skills: Experience with Microsoft SQL Server. Experience writing and executing unit tests and functional tests. Experience supporting applications throughout the full software development lifecycle. Experience developing additional .NET-based solutions, including desktop applications, executables, Excel add-ins, or automation tools. Exposure to ETL processes or enterprise integrations. Experience developing internal business applications or technology solutions supporting Finance. Experience working across multiple applications in a collaborative, business-facing environment.
