The Assistant Purchasing Agent supports IME’s operations by managing purchasing activities, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring the timely delivery of goods and services. This role collaborates with the Procurement Manager and project teams to source materials and services efficiently while optimizing costs and supporting project timelines. What You'll Do Key Responsibilities:
Strategy Development: Conduct comprehensive market analyses to identify potential suppliers and assess market trends. Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans to optimize cost, quality and delivery. Present fully vetted initiatives with accurate due diligence and risk assessment. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals. Demonstrate the highest level of integrity and ethics with internal and external stakeholders. Purchase Order Management: Create, review, and process purchase orders, invoices, and other procurement-related documents as necessary. Investigate and resolve discrepancies. Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, delivery schedules, and other procurement-related documents. Track delivery schedules and communicate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and services Cost Reduction Initiatives: Identify opportunities for cost savings and implement initiatives to improve overall procurement efficiency. Work closely with vendors to negotiate favorable pricing terms. Compliance & Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and enhance procurement processes to drive efficiency and effectiveness. Implement best practices to streamline workflows and reduce cycle times. Industry Networking: Act as a brand ambassador for the company, promoting its values and expertise in the electrical contracting sector. Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers. Demonstrate the highest level of integrity and ethics with internal and external stakeholders.
