Summary This position is responsible for operating, monitoring, and adjusting the palletizing equipment in a manner consistent with production needs and quality standards.
Job Description
Job Responsibilities: Performs start-up and shut-down of the palletizers, wrappers, and related conveyor systems, Troubleshoots mechanical operations of equipment, checking for, and pulling out damaged cases coming through the system. Monitors line flow rates by: completing regular checks for proper feed of cases through the palletizers for maximum efficiency as well as proper feed of pallets through the wrapper and manifest. Coordinates with warehouse team to order material from storage as needed to ensure continuous production. Monitors palletizing equipment by: checking cases for quality standards, adjusting palletizer for different stack patterns, supplying the machine with slip sheets and stretch-warp film, ensuring proper force to load for optimum performance, maintain supply of pallets, and reworks bad cases as needed. Coordinates with lab personnel for proper dispositioning of held product. Completes all required paperwork to ensure accurate documentation of our processes and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned Basic & Preferred Qualifications Position Requirements: (Minimum qualifications required to successfully perform the job or be considered) Education/ Certifications: (Required & Preferred) High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Preferred Lock-out/Tag-out, and Forklift certification are required. If you are not qualified, you will be trained and must meet certification requirements.
Skills and Experience
Food manufacturing experience preferred. Must have the ability to multi-task multiple assignments and duties to be successful. Ability to navigate and operate HMIs and other technology as required. Ability to operate 2-way radio Effectively communicates in English verbally and in writing. Ability to understand instructions and follow directions in English (both written and oral) (Requirement may vary by location). Physical Environment/Demands: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently. Exposed to a noisy environment that varies from hot to cold in temperature Exposure to manufacturing environments for up to 8 hours per work day to include: loud noise, excessive heat, cold, wet, slippery conditions, dirt, fumes, smoke, smells and allergies Ability to do repetitious arm, wrist and hand movements required for job actions and procedures. Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under the equipment.
