A Day in the Life This is a senior trade compliance role centered on export controls, sanctions compliance, SAP GTS implementation, process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration in a global environment. As a Senior Global Trade Analyst, you will own critical day-to-day export controls and sanctions activities that support compliant, efficient global operations. You will apply trade regulatory knowledge, strengthen SAP Global Trade Services (GTS) controls, and partner with colleagues across functions to translate complex requirements into practical processes. This role combines operational ownership with project leadership. You will help implement new sanctions requirements, improve licensing automation, and strengthen reporting, training, and process documentation. Your work will improve operational consistency, maintain continuity of business-critical compliance activities, and support the team’s capacity to deliver strategic system and process improvements. Responsibilities may include: Own recurring sanctions review activities, prioritize operational needs, and provide coverage to maintain service levels, review quality, and effective controls. Partner with cross-functional colleagues to define business requirements for managing controlled exports, with an emphasis on systematic controls and automation. Interpret U.S., European Union, and Swiss trade product sanctions and translate applicable requirements into operational processes and system controls. Lead projects and processes to implement SAP GTS/E4H controls for exports of controlled items to sanctioned countries, including new sanctions packages and Harmonized System (HS) controls for licensing. Serve as a subject matter expert for implementing and operationalizing OFAC, BIS, and EU export licenses in SAP GTS. Support GTS upgrades and automated license creation. Create and maintain standardized processes, work instructions, and training materials. Explain technical trade requirements clearly to colleagues with varied levels of subject matter knowledge. Review operational escalations involving sanctioned countries and partner with internal stakeholders, Global Trade Legal & Compliance (GTLC), and the EurAsia Legal team to resolve issues. Serve as the first point of escalation for contingent employees performing sales order release and related standard work for sanctioned countries. Investigate process gaps, failures, and deviations; gather facts, evaluate options, and coordinate corrective actions with cross-functional partners. Oversee audit completion, recommend corrective actions, and support follow-through on identified improvements. Maintain recurring metrics and performance reporting, including the percentage of sanctioned material reviewed for Russia and sanctions review quality. Review monthly performance indicators for external partners and identify opportunities to improve quality, throughput, operational consistency, and cost effectiveness.
