Senior Financial Analyst - Controllership SEC Reporting Job Summary General Motors is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Senior Financial Analyst to join our Controllership team, focusing on SEC reporting. This role will be integral in ensuring the accuracy and timely submission of financial information to external regulatory bodies. Responsibilities * Prepare and review financial statements, footnotes, and disclosures in accordance with SEC regulations (e.g., Form 10-K, 10-Q). * Assist in the research and interpretation of complex accounting pronouncements and SEC rules, assessing their impact on General Motors' financial reporting. * As team lead, review the work of other analysts, track, and drive processes forward throughout critical financial reporting timeline. * Collaborate with various internal departments (e.g., Legal, Treasury, Accounting Operations) to gather necessary data and ensure consistency in reporting. * Drive the Disclosure checklist and management representation letter process with the Controllership team and external auditors. * Support the external audit process by providing timely and accurate documentation and explanations to auditors. * Utilize financial systems such as OneStream for data extraction, analysis, and report generation. * Develop and maintain robust reporting templates and controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy in the SEC reporting process. * Coordinate the Workiva financial reporting process for the SEC filings * Participate in special projects and ad-hoc analysis as required by management. * Leverage potential AI solutions to enhance and streamline the financial reporting process.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA preferred. 5+ years Accounting Experience Required Proven experience in financial reporting, with specific exposure to SEC reporting requirements. Detail-Oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and precision in financial data. Financial Statement Acumen, including an understanding of GAAP and IFRS principles. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is essential. Experience with Microsoft Power Business Intel for data analysis and reporting. Familiarity with financial systems such as OneStream is highly desired. Experience with Workiva Financial Reporting preferred. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Location: Hybrid. This role is categorized as hybrid.
