Software Engineer III, Android Business Communications Data Engineering

As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google’s needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. Your work will help steer the business strategy of the Android & Business communications products, as well as strongly influence the entire RCS ecosystem and Google's external partners. You will have high-visibility within the organization- working with multiple ABC teams, across multiple products. And, you will develop new skills in the areas of Analytics & Growth and Big Data. The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world. Build a low-latency pipeline to detect clients regressions. Engage various cross-team collaborations within an organizaton of ~400 engineers to define the way logs/metrics should be exported, processed and consumed. Enable automated release/experiment gating (CAS, Mendel-Autoramp, RastaMon Policy Servers). Build, evolve and maintain innovative infrastructures to process data in large-scale.

Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience. 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree. Preferred qualifications: Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields. 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms. Experience with large-scale data processing, capacity planning, system logging, and maintaining production reliability. Proven depth and experience with Google infrastructure including MapReduce/Flume, Dremel, F1, etc.
