Job Title AI Engineering Specialist What does a successful AI Engineering Specialist do at Fiserv? A successful AI Engineering Specialist at Fiserv builds the platforms, frameworks, and accelerators that help teams develop AI-powered solutions faster, more safely, and with greater consistency. This role connects modern software engineering practices with advanced AI capabilities to support scalable, high-impact delivery across the enterprise. The AI Engineering Specialist also helps shape technical standards, governance, and delivery practices that strengthen AI adoption at scale. What you will do? Develop internal platforms, frameworks, accelerators, reusable libraries, templates, and toolkits for AI-powered solutions, including generative AI and large language model integrations. Design and implement build, deployment, evaluation, monitoring, and workflow pipelines for AI applications and ongoing solution improvement. Enable engineering teams with best practices in prompt engineering, Retrieval-Augmented Generation, security, reliability, and scalable AI development. Integrate AI solutions with APIs, microservices, enterprise applications, and data platforms to support enterprise-wide use cases. Define and document technical standards, architectural guidelines, observability practices, governance models, and knowledge assets that support scalable adoption and productivity. What you must have? 3+ years of software engineering experience using Python or a similar programming language. 2+ years of experience developing APIs, microservices, and systems integrations. 1+ year of hands-on experience with pipelines, workflow automation, and CI/CD practices. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. What would be nice to have? 1+ year of experience with generative AI, large language models, prompt engineering, Retrieval-Augmented Generation, or AI agents. 1+ year of experience building or evolving internal engineering platforms. Experience with 1 or more orchestration tools such as Airflow, Prefect, or Dagster.
