Accountant, Treasury and Financial Close

Job Posting: This role will be based in Mexico City, MX and be a Treasury accountant for the Mexico sales business, reporting directly to the local Controller.  This person will be an integral team member in the newly-formed accounting and treasury organization that supports the Wrangler® brand business. This position will be responsible for ongoing accounts payable and cash management activities working with the local Controllership team and the corporate Treasury department.  The role will also be heavily involved in the monthly financial close process for the Mexico City business.  This person should focus on delivering accurate and timely monthly financial close journal entries for review . This person should consistently demonstrate a high level of ethics to all members of the accounting team and the organization, with responsibility to execute and adhere to internal controls and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) guidelines. Key responsibilities will include preparation of journal entries associated with the financial close, including accounts such as inventory and related reserves, bad debt reserves, AP and accruals, and prepaid assets.  This position is responsible for the preparation of monthly account reconciliations, and execution of Kontoor’s internal controls framework in compliance with SOX requirements. RESPONSABILITIES 1. Execute cash management activities with the company’s banks, as directed by the local or Greensboro leadership. 2. Execute certain manual payments and oversee the accuracy of the Accounts Payable accounts in the general ledger. 3. Assist with the financial close and record journal entries across multiple balance sheet and P&L accounts.  4. Display peak levels of ethics and morality, representing the office with integrity and honesty. LEADERSHIP This is a key role in the new accounting and treasury organization that should demonstrate efficiency and proactive decision-making skills.   Specific leadership skills required for the position include the ability to take responsibility for the accuracy of monthly journal entries related to the financial close, while being receptive to feedback; and iii) consistently execute SOX controls.

Must possess a college degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA or similar designation preferred but not required). Must have moderate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills (i.e., ability to structure and analyze larger data sets and write formulas). Should possess 3+ years of experience in Accounting or Finance Detail oriented and able to comply with tight deadlines. Experience in SAP S/4 HANA is preferred but not required Why Kontoor Brands?
