About this role
About Redwood Materials
Redwood is localizing a global battery supply chain that seamlessly integrates recovery, reuse, and recycling — keeping critical minerals in circulation and driving the energy transition. Founded in 2017, we’re delivering low-cost and large-scale energy storage and producing battery materials in the U.S. for the first time, all from batteries we already have.
Redwood Materials is looking for a motivated and accomplished Electrical Foreman to lead electrical crews on industrial construction projects. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing electrical work safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project schedules, budgets, and quality standards. The Electrical Foreman will provide field leadership while working closely with Superintendents, Project Managers, Engineers, and other trades to ensure successful project completion.
Responsibilities
• Lead, supervise, and mentor electrical crews while promoting a safe, productive, and positive work environment.
• Plan daily and weekly work activities to ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget.
• Coordinate manpower assignments and delegate work based on employee skill level, experience, and project priorities.
• Establish daily, weekly, and milestone job goals while tracking progress and adjusting plans as needed.
• Assist with estimating labor, materials, and equipment required for upcoming projects and change orders.
• Review drawings, specifications, P&IDs, blueprints, and electrical schematics to develop work plans and installation strategies.
• Perform field walks to identify project requirements, constructability concerns, and material needs.
• Prepare and submit material requests, verify deliveries, and maintain inventory to prevent project delays.
• Track, assign, and maintain accountability for company tools and equipment issued to crew members, including tool inventories, inspections, and replacement requests.
• Coordinate equipment, tools, and resources necessary to complete work safely and efficiently.
• Schedule work activities and coordinate with other trades, contractors, and operations.
• Ensure installations comply with the NEC, project specifications, and Redwood Materials standards.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems and provide technical guidance to electricians in the field.
• Support commissioning, testing, startup, turnover activities, and project closeout.
• Produce as-built drawings, redlines, punch lists, and project documentation.
• Monitor productivity, quality, workmanship, and job costs while identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Conduct pre-task planning, JHAs, permits, and LOTO requirements.
• Communicate project updates, manpower needs, schedules, and material status to Superintendents and Project Managers.
• Promote teamwork, accountability, and professional development.
• Perform hands-on electrical work as needed.
Desired Qualifications
• Must possess a current Journeyman Electrician (JW) License. Nevada Journeyman License preferred or ability to obtain as required.
• Minimum 7+ years of industrial or commercial electrical experience with previous Foreman or leadership experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of power distribution, lighting, motor controls, PLCs, VFDs, and electrical systems up to 480 VAC.
• Medium voltage experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code
