What this job involves: We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Assistant Engineer to support our Data Centre operations team, with a primary focus on administrative and documentation duties. This role is essential in ensuring accurate recordkeeping, compliance with operational procedures, and smooth coordination between engineering activities and back-office functions.

Maintain and update technical documentation, including equipment logs, maintenance records, and as-built drawings. Process work orders, service requests, and contractor documentation in alignment with data centre protocols. Assist in preparing reports, incident summaries, and compliance-related paperwork. Coordinate with internal teams and vendors to track completion of tasks and ensure proper filing of certifications and permits. Support audit readiness by organizing and archiving operational records (physical and digital). Liaise with engineering staff to verify accuracy of asset registers, inventory lists, and change management forms. Ensure all administrative workflows adhere to company standards and industry regulations (e.g., ISO, SOC 2, or local data centre guidelines). Required Skills and Experience Diploma or Associate Degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, IT, or a related field. 1–3 years of experience in a data centre, critical facility, or technical administrative role. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and familiarity with CMMS or DCIM platforms (e.g., Nlyte, Sunbird, or similar). Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple documentation streams. Clear written and verbal communication skills. Understanding of data centre infrastructure (power, cooling, network) is advantageous but not mandatory.
