The DevOps Engineering team keeps our cloud environments reliable, available, and high-performing — enabling smooth releases and infrastructure that scales with a large scale SaaS platform. We focus on helping product teams ship quickly and safely, aligning infrastructure with Workday's standards, and automating as much of the software delivery lifecycle as possible. Going forward, we'll keep deepening automation, expanding observability, and driving consistency across environments. As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will play a key role in keeping our systems reliable, our releases seamless, and our infrastructure aligned with Workday’s standards. You will bring deep experience in DevOps practices and tooling and apply that experience to real, production-facing challenges every day. This role is about more than just writing automation. You will evaluate when to automate and when a different approach is the right call. You will identify gaps, take initiative, and drive solutions forward without waiting to be asked. Your ability to see a need and fill it will be one of your greatest assets on this team. This position includes participation in an on-call rotation to support the availability and reliability of our production services.

Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to enable smooth, reliable releases for large-scale cloud applications Manage and optimize AWS cloud infrastructure, ensuring performance, scalability, security, and cost efficiency Implement and maintain Kubernetes clusters and container orchestration using Helm charts and ArgoCD for GitOps-based deployments Build and improve automation for infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and operational workflows using GitHub Actions and scripting Integrate application and infrastructure environments with Workday standards and guardrails, ensuring consistency and compliance across environments Monitor system health and performance, proactively identifying and resolving issues before they impact availability Participate in an on-call rotation, responding to incidents, driving timely remediation, and contributing to follow-up improvements Partner closely with development teams to support their infrastructure needs, improve developer experience, and remove friction from the delivery pipeline Evaluate and recommend new tools, technologies, and practices that improve reliability, security, and operational efficiency Other duties which are assigned by the
