Role description: Arcadis is seeking a motivated and technically strong Water Quality Engineer to join our growing team in Boca Raton, Florida. This position is ideal for an engineer who is interested in supporting and technical projects that address water quality, treatment, conveyance, reuse, resilience, and regulatory compliance challenges for municipal and utility clients. Collaborating with our experienced Water Professionals, you will support and drive development of projects, interact and work with clients, and develop your technical capabilities. Role accountabilities: In this role, you will support the planning, design, and delivery of municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams and clients, you will contribute to a variety of engineering assignments from initial studies and design through construction support. This position offers the opportunity to be involved in treatment, conveyance, regulatory compliance, asset management, and emerging contaminants projects while helping deliver innovative solutions for our clients.

Perform engineering evaluations, feasibility studies, master plans, alternatives analyses, and preliminary and final design for water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including the preparation of technical reports, design calculations, plans, specifications, and construction cost estimates. Support drinking water and wastewater treatment projects through process evaluations, optimization studies, PFAS investigations and treatment solutions, pilot testing, regulatory compliance assessments, and implementation planning. Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams and support project managers in developing scopes, schedules, budgets, and project deliverables while contributing to successful project execution. Assist with permitting, regulatory coordination, construction administration, and startup activities, including shop drawing reviews, RFI responses, site visits, and commissioning support. Participate in client meetings, workshops, business development efforts, proposal preparation, and periodic travel for project site visits, conferences, and client engagements.

Qualifications & Experience: Required Qualifications

Minimum 4 years of relevant experience Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical or a related field of study. EIT Certification or Professional Engineering (PE) License

Key Skills/Attributes

Prior experience/training with AutoCAD and/or Revit. Project leadership experience including managing overall project delivery expectations, prioritizing tasks, and mentoring. Client management skills, including preparation and development of proposals and client relationship building. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.

Preferred Qualifications Preferred qualifications include five or more years of relevant experience, preferably within a consulting engineering firm, municipal utility, or public sector environment. Experience with PFAS characterization, treatment technologies, regulatory compliance, and risk mitigation strategies related to drinking water, wastewater, residuals, and biosolids management programs is highly desirable.
