Role
Summary Engineer responsible for design, release, and product management of battery pack components Responsibilities Support ESS Integration Engineering Team for development of all Rivian battery pack components Lead CAD development for battery pack components Manage PLM Battery System and component attribute data in Enovia, including tracking mass roll-ups. Support CAD design reviews as necessary Ensure drafting, tolerance stack analysis, and GD&T are completed for Battery components. Manage supplier through product development to ensure parts meet fit, form, and function for applications Support BOM management activities based on variant and date/ milestone effectivity Support component interface analysis, DVA, clash checks Support ongoing product development efforts for cost reduction and design improvements Qualifications 5+ years industry experience or 3+ years with Master’s degree. Experience work with vehicle team integrating product in vehicle Familiarity with lithium ion cell chemistries and form factors. Design experience for injection molding, forming/stamping, casting, extrusion, and composite layup. Understanding of battery system architectures Strong fluids and thermodynamics background with working knowledge of energy conversion and heat transfer. Experience with automotive powertrain requirements, load cases, and standards. Experience with release engineering including CAD design, GD&T, and PLM interface. Strong oral and written communication for supplier engagement, program timing, and project management. Experience with automotive DVP&R cycle, requirements management, and issue tracking – JIRA, JAMA, IQ-RM CATIA V6 (3Dx) and Enovia proficiency MS Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project) proficiency Pay Disclosure The salary range for this role is USD 107,800 - 134,800 for California based applicants. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, and organizational needs. The successful candidate may be eligible for annual performance bonus and equity awards.
