Overview
Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a skilled and motivated Sr. Project Surveyor to join our forward-thinking Survey/Geospatial team in Biddeford, Maine. In this key senior-level role, you will bring your technical expertise, sharp attention to detail, and passion for precision to projects that support infrastructure, development, and community growth across the region. You will help prepare various tyoes of surveys, perform accurate computations for layouts involving roads, buildings, subdivisions, and infrastructure, coordinate field and office efforts, and support project managers with proposals, estimates, reports, plans, and contract documents. Responsibilities
Compile survey cost estimate and scope of services. Analyze and prepare complete boundary survey by compiling record data and providing sound analysis and reason for accurate property line location. Perform Quality Control review on reports, plans, specifications, cost estimates, and other contract documents prepared by others for accuracy and completeness. Provide accurate computation for the layout of subdivisions, roads and lots as well as buildings and utilities. Provide assistance to staff in the preparation of reports/findings, plans, and other contract documents. Organize and coordinate the work of field and office staff required to complete design, field and/or other tasks on more complex projects. Assist in the preparation of project/task work plans. Assist with the safety planning and preparation for projects. Provide direction to staff to complete project objectives. Monitor the work efforts of assigned staff including sub-consultants and/or contractors, overseeing budgets. Monitor time schedules and capital cost budgets on projects to satisfy client. Ensure that all scope revisions affecting the project schedule and/or budget are discussed with the client. Ensure that all out-of-scope work and associated fees are approved by the client prior to performing the services. May supervise assignments given to Survey Technician(s).
Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED is required; Associate degree or equivalent technical experience is preferred. 5+ years of related surveying experience required. SIT license preferred. CST preferred. Advanced proficiency in Civil 3D, TBC (Trimble Business Center). Proficient various data techniques and coding systems. Advanced knowledge of various surveying instruments, techniques, and computations. Advanced understanding of angular and linear measurement systems. Advanced knowledge of trigonometry and geometry. Valid drivers’ license required and ability to operate a motor vehicle. MVR will be checked and monitored. Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions. Compensation: $84,400 to $123,200 per year (depending on qualifications) Requires a pre-employment drug screen.
