The Company is an equal employment opportunity employer Responsibilities This role, Auto Damage Desk Adjuster is a key contributor to the Berkley One brand, requires a successful track record in handling auto physical damage claims while delivering exceptional customer service. The Auto Damage Adjuster is responsible for quality assurance and timely review of estimates, total losses, salvage, and handling non-complex auto claims, and serves as an auto physical damage resource for the claims team.
This role will be based in our Wilmington, DE or Phoenix, AZ office. We offer a hybrid work schedule with 4 days in the office; and 1 day remote where it makes sense to do so.

We'll count on you to
Review first and third-party estimates. Identify total loss estimates for the claims department and provide an evaluation in the claim file. Contact repair and tow facilities to negotiate storage and other charges. Directly manage the total loss process, including Copart Salvage assignments, securing permission to move vehicles, and notifying repair or tow facilities. Serve as an auto physical damage resource for the claims department. Negotiate labor rates with repair facilities as part of the estimate review process. Pro-actively manage the APD requests inbox. Write desk estimates on repairable and total loss vehicles. Run Salvage Pro-quotes for total loss vehicles. Handle first-party auto claims of minimal complexity, such as comprehensive auto claims. Appropriately manage claims through coverage analysis, investigation, reserving and resolution. Identify and address coverage issues, complete investigation to determine cause and exposure, set timely reserves and develop detailed action plans. Negotiate and convey claim settlements within authority limits. Research and locate additional information and documentation to investigate, evaluate and properly resolve claims. Pro-actively manage file inventory to ensure timely resolution of cases. Deliver exceptional customer service to meet the needs of the insured, agent, and all internal and external customers. Perform other duties as assigned.
