The Payroll Tax Specialist 1 will work through the process of quarterly and periodic payroll tax filings and should expect an increase in workload around year-end payroll tax activities, including annual reconciliations, W-2 processing, and tax reporting requirements. The incumbent will be responsible for researching and resolving payroll tax issues with state and federal agencies, managing powers of attorney (POAs), processing refund checks, and coordinating payroll tax registrations across multiple jurisdictions. This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to independently investigate and resolve complex payroll tax matters while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
