We are seeking a Project Engineer to join the THAAD Obsolescence Surveillance Team in Huntsville, AL. This role will collaborate with other team members to manage databases and tools to track, report on, and resolve material obsolescence issues across the ground, interceptor and software components of the THAAD architecture. This role will also coordinate supplier data submissions as well as support prime contract data submission creation, tracking and customer submittals in support of contract requirements. As a Project Engineer, you will: Proactively manage an obsolescence inventory database and case management system with a view towards improvement and optimization of the database. Provide inventory analysis development and maintenance. Provide data validation for THAAD Indentured Parts Lists (IPL) and subcontractor data submittals. Prepare metrics and provide input for internal and external program needs related to document creation, submission and presentation that integrate information from a variety of industry and LM tools. Improve, modernize and optimize databases, spreadsheets and integrate visualization tools to use by the team and customers. Drive accurate and timely SDRL submittal of obsolescence data from suppliers. Manage CDRL prime contract submissions. Plans and formulates engineering program; reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications. Evaluates and approves design changes, specification and drawing releases. Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems. Basic Qualifications Familiar with Obsolescence practices and Principles. Experience or coursework in design or management of databases. Experience using databases and/or visualizations (e.g. MS Access, Tableau, PostGres, SQL/Oracle, etc.). Experience presenting information to internal and external stakeholders. Willing and able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance, US Citizenship is required Desired Skills Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, software engineering, data science, or related technical discipline. Knowledge of or experience with data transformation / cleaning. Experience with and interest in database development and management. Strong analytical skills and understanding of system databases, data elements and application software solutions to optimize data gathering and analysis.
