About the Opportunity This is an open position with FirstEnergy Service Co., a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. [SC00 This position reports to the Manager of Instructional Support Services and serves as a consulting partner to Human Resources, leadership, and business units to assess needs and support the design, development, delivery, implementation, and evaluation of learning solutions that enhance organizational effectiveness. This role combines instructional design expertise with learning technology and Learning Management System support to ensure training solutions are effective, accessible, well-managed, and aligned with business objectives. Responsibilities include : Partner with HR, leadership, and business units to conduct performance and needs analyses, identify training and non-training solutions, and recommend approaches to close performance gaps. Design and develop instructional materials, including lesson plans, participant materials, facilitator guides, job aids, assessments, examinations, web-based training modules, presentations, and visual aids. Apply instructional design methodologies, adult learning principles, and effective facilitation practices to create engaging, relevant, and measurable learning experiences. Support LMS administration activities, including course setup, testing, assignments, completion tracking, reporting, troubleshooting, and maintenance of accurate training records. Coordinate training logistics, including facilities and equipment, scheduling, attendance tracking, training reports, measurement activities, survey results, and participation trend analysis. Conduct quality assurance reviews of learning materials and technology-based training to ensure accuracy, functionality, accessibility, and alignment with learning objectives. Maintain and update SharePoint sites and related learning technology resources to ensure learning and development information is accurate, accessible, and current. Analyze LMS data, learner feedback, assessment results, completion trends, and other metrics to evaluate training effectiveness and recommend improvements. Support LMS governance practices, including role-based access, data integrity, audit readiness, training assignment accuracy, and consistent administration of learning processes. Lead and contribute to enterprise projects and initiatives focused on employee development, leadership development, process improvement, and learning technology adoption. Develop and deliver presentations for varied audiences on complex topics, ensuring content is clear, relevant, accessible, and appropriately tailored. Exercise independent judgment in managing complex projects, assignments, stakeholder feedback, timelines, deliverables, and competing priorities. Stay current on adult learning trends, accessibility practices, emerging technologies, learning analytics, and instructional design best practices to support continuous improvement. Perform other duties as assigned. Travel as needed. Minimum Qualifications at the Learning & Development Rep III level include: Bachelor’s degree in Learning, Instructional Design, Education, Human Resources, or a related discipline and a minimum of four years of relevant work experience required.
