Location: Hokkaido Branch Office: Sapporo Brick Cube, 1-1-1 Kitasanjonishi, Chuo-ku, Sapporo-shi, Hokkaido, 060-0003 JAPAN [Job descriptions] As the EH&S (Environment, Health & Safety) Manager (or Leader), this position provides strategic leadership to drive EH&S compliance initiatives throughout the Hokkaido area. Working closely with the Field Operations organization, including Construction and Service, the role is responsible for identifying, anticipating, and assessing workplace hazards and risks, while promoting the implementation and effective operation of the company's EH&S policies and EH&S Management System across all work sites. In addition, the position is responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations and minimizing the impact of losses resulting from occupational injuries, illnesses, vehicle accidents, and other EH&S-related incidents. Through these efforts, the role will strengthen EH&S awareness throughout the organization and further enhance Otis's safety culture. [Examples of Key Tasks] - Provide strategic leadership to drive initiatives aimed at achieving EH&S (Environment, Health & Safety) objectives and promoting continuous improvement. - Partner with Field Operations functions, including Construction and Service, to conduct site safety inspections and audits, and provide safety guidance and training to employees and line management. - Establish, implement, monitor, and provide oversight of procedures necessary to ensure compliance with applicable EH&S regulations and internal company policies. - Lead investigations of occupational injuries, illnesses, and other incidents; perform root cause analyses; develop and implement corrective and preventive actions; and coordinate with regulatory authorities when required. - Promote a strong safety culture throughout the branch by facilitating Safety and Health Committee activities and organizing annual safety conferences and other safety-related programs. - Manage EH&S performance by collecting and analyzing safety-related metrics and maintaining EH&S documentation and training records. - Drive the integration of EH&S performance and accountability into branch operations through participation in management reviews, including Safety and Health Committee meetings. - Oversee related management programs, including industrial waste management, occupational health programs (such as periodic medical examinations), and vehicle fleet management. [Selection Criteria] Experience; - Minimum 2 years of practical experience in Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S). # Experience in EH&S within a field operations environment in the elevator and escalator industry is preferred. - Field experience and relevant technical knowledge in the construction and/or building equipment industry. # Experience in the elevator and escalator industry is preferred. - Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, strategic thinking, planning, and collaboration skills. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Ability to work effectively in a field operations environment, including traveling between multiple floors, moving around construction sites, and supporting operations in remote locations. Required Qualifications; - Regular driver's license. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including: Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word.
