You'll own the general ledger and monthly close, accounts payable and vendor payments, invoicing and collections, and the tax and compliance filings that support them. Near-term priorities include establishing the close calendar, building a chart of accounts for management reporting, automating reconciliations, and selecting the ERP we'll scale on. The role reports to the Head of Finance & Operations; it starts hands-on with third-party contractor support and can grow into managing a small accounting team.
What You'll Do
Own the monthly close end to end: calendar, journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting deliverables; deliver monthly financials to leadership Own the general ledger, chart of accounts, and department structure; maintain accrual, prepaid, and fixed asset schedules Own accounts payable end to end: intake, coding, approval routing, and payment runs in Ramp Manage vendor onboarding, tax documentation, and international wire payments; apply procurement and expense policy Invoice customers and manage collections Write and maintain accounting policies and internal controls; prepare the company for its first financial statement audit Apply AI tooling to reconciliation, analysis, and documentation workflows What We're Looking For 4+ years of accounting experience, with exposure to public accounting or in-house accounting at a scaling company Ability to own a monthly close end to end - planning, execution, and accountability for the result Experience designing or rebuilding an accounting process from the ground up Hands-on experience with a general ledger system and a modern expense or AP platform (e.g. Ramp) Comfortable working in an early-stage environment with broad scope and shifting priorities Expertise and willingness to use AI tools in day-to-day accounting workflows Bonus Points CPA or CPA-track SaaS experience Experience preparing for or supporting a first financial statement audit Familiarity with ERP selection or implementation at an early-stage company We are committed to building an inclusive and diverse company.
