Job Summary
Operations mechanic supporting Columbus Engine Center (CEC), Geared Turbo Fan (GTF) or Military Engine Center of Excellence (MECoE) in Disassembly, Assembly and Test (DAT) Assembly/ Disassembly: Work with assigned personnel or independently to perform flight-quality jet engine assembly/disassembly or related operations. Perform general assembly or disassembly operations. Use prescribed assembly/disassembly techniques to facilitate the flow of work through the assembly/disassembly processes to meet production schedule and business commitments. Test: Work with assigned personnel to perform test operations in accordance with applicable technical data and published standard practices. Assist in set-up and operation of test facilities including special test equipment. Ensure all functions are performed according to Pratt & Whitney, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) and Quality policies. Perform other related work assignments as required or directed by supervision that supports department objectives. This is a Weekend position: Friday – Sunday 6:30am – 7pm What You Will Do: Work as a member of a team responsible for turbine engine, engine module, or component maintenance in accordance with published work instructions and approved technical data. Utilize common hand tools as well as a wide variety of tooling and fixtures to assemble/disassembly and test a jet engine. Ensure all phases of assembly/disassembly as specified by work instructions, comply with required self-inspection or peer inspection of critical processes ensuring adherence to quality standards. Monitor and ensure processes meet Safety, Quality and Delivery objectives.
Qualifications
You Must Have: HS Diploma or GED equivalent 1+ years’ experience in aviation mechanic role or appropriate technical training (ASE certification or military mechanic equivalent) Basic understanding of DAT – Disassembly, Assembly, Test. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
