Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.

Our Specialty Lines Underwriter Development Program is a 24-month accelerated learning experience designed to give you unparalleled expertise and grow your career in an exciting industry.  In this rotational program, mentors, managers, and underwriting coaches will teach you the ins and outs of our specialty insurance business through a variety of learning styles.   But wait, what exactly IS Specialty Lines?  And what does an underwriter do? Specialty Lines is a major division of our business that provides insurance solutions to unique industries with complex product needs such as Directors and Officers, Professional Liability, Crime, Technology, Construction, Equipment Breakdown, and Farm insurance.   Our Underwriters understand our products inside and out.  As a member of the team, you’d become a champion of risk assessment and work directly with Intact’s network of Brokers – the people who sell our products to businesses – to make sure they understand the products, know how to market them, and help them to evaluate the potential risks of taking on certain portfolios.   Through this program, you will: Get hands-on exposure to 3 different verticals within Specialty Lines. Learn the technical aspects of insurance: analyzing requests for quotes, renewals, policy changes, and recommend solutions; rate and prepare quotes for new business and renewals; and make recommendations for continued department improvement. Learn in inspiring ways on-the-job in a collaborative work environment, self-study, and a classroom.
