Summary: The College of Medicine at Florida Atlantic University is seeking an Assistant Director of Learner Success in Boca Raton, FL. The Assistant Director of Learner Success supports academic achievement across the continuum of medical education. This position plays a vital role in promoting learner success by identifying medical students, residents, and fellows who may benefit from academic support; developing proactive outreach and prevention programs; and creating individualized success plans that foster academic growth, resilience, and professional development. Working collaboratively with undergraduate and graduate medical education leadership, faculty, assessment professionals, and student support services, the Assistant Director will design and implement evidence-based academic success initiatives, provide individualized coaching and counseling, monitor learner performance, and support preparation for course, licensure, and board examinations. Summary of Responsibilities: The primary mission of the Assistant Director of Learner Success is to identify medical students, residents, and fellows who may need academic support, develop outreach and prevention programs to promote success and design individualized academic support plans across the continuum of medical education. Assist in developing, implementing, directing, and evaluating longitudinal academic success curricula aligned with each phase of training, including undergraduate medical education and graduate medical education. Facilitate institution wide academic success programming focused on study skills, time management, clinical efficiency, and board preparation strategies. Assist in establishing programs to evaluate learner readiness to take and pass licensure and board examinations, including USMLE examinations, specialty in training examinations, and specialty board certification examinations. Provide academic counseling services and develop and implement individualized learning plans for medical students, residents, and fellows based on examination performance, milestone data, in training examinations, and other objective academic metrics. Maintain knowledge of best practices for academic support services and implement evidence-based strategies. Participate in efforts to enhance academic transitions across the continuum of medical education, including transition into medical school, transition to clinical training, transition to residency, and transition to fellowship. Collaborate with evaluation and assessment professionals to collect, review, and analyze performance data including NBME subject examinations, USMLE practice exams and results, in training examinations, and board pass rates to inform structured preparation strategies. Attend, or obtain updates related to, relevant undergraduate medical education curriculum and graduate medical education committee meetings to remain informed of curricular and examination changes. Provide appropriate referrals for additional testing and/or evaluation based on individual learner needs. Maintain a referral network of professionals who are able to provide additional services as needed for medical students, residents and fellows. Periodically follow up with learners on leaves of absence to ensure readiness for academic reintegration and successful return to training. Collaborate with Student Accessibility Services (SAS) and GME and UME staff to support appropriate implementation and monitoring of SAS accommodation plans. Provide updates regarding learner
